We understand that it’s very difficult to test Chimpegration with dummy data, here are some suggestions for how you could try out the functionality without touching your live data.
- Create a list of staff and run a Mailchimp Data Update Process to move their records into an Audience with a tag (note, you cannot add fake email addresses to Mailchimp)
- Send a test email to that group, have some links to click, have someone unsubscribe (or manually unsubscribe them in Mailchimp), makes some changes to those records in Mailchimp, etc.
- Work through different processes RE Data Update process and Manage Campaigns so you can see how records are updated in Raiser’s Edge. Since you have a campaign in Mailchimp already set up, try adding an Action to see how all sent, opened, clicked, unsubscribed, bounced will appear. You may wish to try more than one option. Try out some scheduled or realtime actions.
- Check the results, check again.
It is also recommended that you create processes in adherence to this User Guide and make logical decisions when setting up your processes. Failure to do so might result in you getting unexpected results.
