What it does:
There are three version of this application; Audit Trail Free (see below), Audit Trail Basic and Audit Trail Professional. Audit Trail Basic captures changes (additions, updates and deletions) made on a small subset of the constituent record whereas the Audit Trail Professional includes other areas of the constituent record and many other areas in The Raiser's Edge (see feature comparison below for full details).
Our new release of the Pro version allows you to undo changes directly from the audit viewer, see below for more details.
All versions track the field value before and after the change/deletion, the user that made the change, the date the change was made and the name of the field it was changed on.
The accompanying audit viewer for Audit Trail Basic and Professional allows you see the changes that have been made over a period of time and filter them based on all the fields mentioned previously. The search can be based on a time frame, a user, a specific constituent, a specific area of the Raiser's Edge, a field within an area, a query or any combination of these.
You may have recently cleaned your data and want to ensure it stays clean, perhaps you are trying to identify training gaps or you might have temporary staff updating the database and want to monitor input. Or you might just be keen to have some sensible data checks in place to ensure clean useful data going forward.

New in the latest version you can now now revert erroneous changes directly from the audit viewer! This makes cleaning up your data easier than ever, correcting mistakes as soon as you spot them to speed up your data management. Just right click on changes to undo them immediately in The Raiser's Edge, it couldn't be simpler.
We have also added the option to filter by data standards to help you focus solely on data errors in those areas that are most important to you.
And finally we have added solicit codes to the audit, this comes directly from user feedback, we always aim to make changes our users suggest and we know this one will be welcomed by many of our users.
One area that cannot be tracked automatically is global changes. However Audit Trail professional contains a global change plug-in. This allows you to enter the query you are about to use in a global change, perform the change and then process the audit. That way any changes made to these records will be audited.
Audit Trail also allows you to pre-define your business rules and highlight those records that do not conform to them in the search results.
You can also create field profiles, groups of critical fields to review, cutting out the 'noise' of those that aren't so important to your work. You set up any number of different field profiles; you can separate out different groups for different users, or areas of RE, or have a separate group to check certain fields where known errors occur on importing.
